Last night I finally got a chance to watch Blaine Eddy’s new video on forming wildcat cases – “Wildcatting Made Easy”. Blaine sent me a DVD last week but I haven’t been able to watch it until last night. This video is about an hour and a half of pure, no BS information on using Blaine’s method of necking down and forming wildcats using his invention “The Plate”. Blaine states in the video that his purpose in making the video is to save other wildcatters out there many hundreds of dollars, by showing them how to use the plate method of necking down cases instead of buying expensive forming dies. All I can say is, Blaine’s Plate is one SLICK method of necking down brass! For anyone that plays with making up wildcats and finds himself needing to spend money on forming dies, I feel this is definitely a better and less expensive way to go. Blaine goes through in detail how he came up with the idea, how it works, and how to make your own Plate. With the plate you can neck down pretty much anything to anything, in seconds. You could even neck down a big .338 caliber to .14 caliber, with this one tool, and it’s fast and easy. In the video, as he’s showing how it works, he makes several cases including a .22-284 and a couple of his own .17 caliber wildcats based on the Russian and BR cases. He explains how you can make your own plate, for next to no money. But, he also says he’ll be making them for sale in the near future. I’m just going to buy one from Blaine when he has them ready to go.
One of my favorite parts, was in the beginning when Blaine shows a few of his specialized predator rifles. He’s got some serious tools there, and it’s obvious the man knows how to use them too.
I highly recommend this video for any of you guys that play with your own wildcats or ever need to buy forming dies to make cases. If you make your own plate and avoid buying just one set of dies, it will have more than paid for itself. You can get the video from board sponsor allpredatorcalls.com.
Good job Blaine!
