New Thermal Products

What will be some of the new thermals coming out? It looks like some of the older models have sale prices to clear them out.
Nocpix has an interesting new thermal coming out and iRay is going to distribute them in the USA.

It looks like N vision optics will be coming out with something new.
It looks like Pulsar is going to discontinue the XP 50.
It looks like iRay is not going to make the BOLT TH50-C V2 going forward.

I would think with all of the new thermal companies coming out with new products that it will be hard for companies to get as much profit margin going forward.

Def a ton of new companies coming out of the woodwork
The plus side of that is thermals are finally becoming affordable for the working man.
The technology is getting awesome as well.
It’s basically like cell phones at this point, in 6 months whatever you bought is obsolete.

Yeah things are moving fast. I just talked to Hans at Outdoor Legacy this morning as a matter of fact about a few so I can share some info. Nocpix and Rix are a part of Infiray; I knew Nocpix was but Rix surprised me. I'm looking hard at the Nocpix Ace.

Yeah, that Nocpix Ace looks awesome. I'll probably run this Super Yoter another year and hope the price comes down a bit.
Apparently, you can get them much cheaper in Europe, but finding someone to ship to the US is a problem. I suppose there are import laws that require they come through a US distributor...

I don't know what they are coming out with. It is speculations by people that when they started cutting prices it was to move out the old for the coming new stuff.
That Nocpix line is looking good.

Is the Nocpix S60R kind of a newer better higher res. version of the iRay Bolt TX60C and with a internal LRF?

The iRay Bolt 60 has a 3X base mag and the Nocpix 60 is only 2X. I'm not that versed on these things so is this that much of a big deal using it for coyote hunting? Lower base mag is probably wider FOV but is that worth the trade off for a lower base mag? Always thought folks liked 3-3.5X for their base mag better, thoughts??

I haven't seen anything on the s60r yet. I did hear that the 1024 Bolt has some lag issues with it's processor.

As far as base mag, I'd guess it depends on your use. Close up hogs 2x would maybe be preferable, strictly coyotes 3x, or at least that seems to be the widely accepted wisdom.

When we started using the RS75 with the 2X base mag, I thought it would compromise us as well, but I actually like the wider field of view over the 3 or 4 x that I've used quite a bit better.

skinney, you being an iRay guy and from what I understand Nocpix has something to do with iRay do you know anything about the Nocpix S60R?

Skinney, I've been a lover of lower base mag. wider FOV scopes since the earlier Trail XP models. I can track more coyotes and find them quicker before and after the shot which has helped me get more multiples. I have numerous doubles and a fair amount of triples and got my bucket list quad a few weeks ago. Love the wide FOV especially in the scanners which is as hard to find these days as the proverbial hens teeth. I love my Helion XP28 and if any one know of someone who wants to sell one please let me know!

I heard they won't be picking it up because of the TX60. I don't know for certain, but I bet the tx60 gets an upgrade.

According to a lot of thermal "salesmen" that I have talked to, most coyote hunters like 3-3.5 and most hog hunters like 2. That's why the Bolt TH50 was often considered the best coyote thermal on the market.

I like the idea that AGM has with the Clarion. Hopefully more companies will follow.

If you want go see what's coming out just go to YouTube and look in the European section. They seem to always be a year ahead of us with NV and thermals.
