just read in the paper today they are installing the new bollards / barriers to prevent this type of incident.

the only problem is they will only with stand an impact of 10 miles per hour or less, anything faster and they fail

Yep... Good to know if you're a nutcase hellbent on causing harm to the innocent. :rolleyes: Maybe they'll put up 10 MPH signs up so they'll work just fine.
 
i can make better barriers out of 12 foot steel I-Beams

cut a hole in the sidewalk, plant the beams 6 feet deep and surround them with concrete, that leaves 6 feet above ground. double them up if you want. that will work better than what they have now.
