After getting stuck I nearly ran out of recovery rope so made two more 50' lengths. I like synthetic rope as I travel alone. I can stretch them out much farther than straps so when I get back in the truck it gives me about a foot of movement before I have to stretch them out again.
12,000 lb tensile, 8,000 lb working
I bought a BOG tripod when they first came out, quite heavy and doesn't really hold a tapered bolt action stock very well. New one I assembled, Siuri 34mm carbon fiber tripod, 75mm half ball leveling head, 70mm swiss acra clamp plate, 120mm cheese plate. It is much lighter and sturdier than the BOG. It should work well for stand up stand, and steadier than stick on open country stands. I mounted a 120mm plate on my HB 20P and have another plate coming for my HB 22-250AI. All for under $200.
Years ago I extended my "Shooting Stycks" for use on a stool and broke one last week. This week I made a new set out of tempered aluminum tent poles and the turned out nice, also made a clip on sleeve for them that clips to my back scabbard. They have a metal pivot and the castration bands act as tensioners.
Last my wife and I collaborated on some new reloading blocks. At 83 she's taken up computer design and 3D printing. They have a hidden secret but I have to hold that back until my tester let's me know how it works and any improvements.

I.ve killed some coyotes, and am still working on a javelina but the pins are getting a little tire trying to find one.
