New calling scope

I just received a new Sightron S1-G2 1.75-5x32.

Sound familiar, I bought one sas soon as they were released and sent it back due to aberration in the image at the lowest power, after spending some phone time with Sightron techs they pulled another off the shelf and saw the same thing, they returned the money and paid for me to return it. Great customer service

Fast forward a.year or so a thread started on another site about this scope and there was no mention of the problem I experience, maybe they got it fixed. I ordered another and they did.

So a short review. This is a great little scope for the money. Very clear sharp image, exceptional eye relief, 70+' FOV, lightweight at 12.2oz and it seems to have a long mounting space. I mounted it on my Rem 788 in n 222 Rem with a pic rail. I was able to use all but one slot on the rail.

I'll sight it in in the morning and head out for a hunt.

I took it to the range yesterday and am still pleased. Adjustments are spot on, POI stayed the same through the power range and could easily see 224 bullet holes at 100 yards. I took it hunting, started at noon, kind of windy in a heavily called area, lots of pull off along the roads and came up blank for four stands. I'm also playing with a new caller and still need to learn it. I will review it when I have more time on it.

I'm hearing a lot about Sightron being good scopes, and might make one my next scope.

As I understand it, the lower cost Sightrons are made in Phillipines and the pricier ones in Japan.

Your bench looks a lot like mine, lol.

I have a 2-10 stac I really like, have it on a 338wm(which I only use for the occasional successful elk lic draw). I have been thinking it needs to go on a critter rifle and be used regularly.

I've had a few. I've been shooting a Sightron II 1.5-6x40 for 20 years, no plan to change it. I bought a couple of the S-tac's that I like. If we ever have an Egg Shoot again more than likely I'll have a Sightron on the rifle.
