Mounting a light on the atn 4k pro

I want to mount my coyote cannon on my scope, but was wondering if that causes stress on the scope when you shoot. I would be running it on a 6.5 creedmore. The if that does cause to much stress on the scope what about mounting it on the scope ring that has a picitiny rail? Thanks

I wouldnt think it would cause too much stress either way

It is however, a cantilever type moment stress it produces thinking back to my days as an engineer. There are formulas that calculate beam deflection and stress but that's probably over-thinking it a bit. My best guess is the recoil stress it puts on the electronics in the light would be more to worry about than the mounting of the light itself.

There are probably guys here that have just the experience running lights on scopes that hopefully will chime in for some actual world experience. I run two lights on my AR but its a lot less recoil than your 6.5 Creed but I still dont think it would be an issue on the scope if you mounted it there.

I mounted it on my burris rings that have a rail on top. Seems to work fine!

Where/how are you mounting your light to prevent this? I've noticed it in my videos but just figured that was the nature of the beast when shooting at night.

Sorry Wolverines , I didn’t see your question .

AR style - we use bottom of rail.
On bolt guns- we use the Caldwell mount Willy1947 mentioned

Are you absolutely sold on the Coyote Cannon? That is probably a very bright IR, but that bezel is huge and the light weighs 28oz with a battery.
I use the much more compact SH 38LRX with Gen 3 NV and am pretty happy with it.
The bezel is over 1" smaller and the light weighs 10oz with battery.
They claim that you can see to about 500 yds with digital NV with the 38LRX, that is way out there for a shot at night.

I have it mounted at the front end of the handguard with an offset mount. Yes you do get some whiteout, IMO that is unavoidable with NV.

Yeah, I am sold on it, considering I am currently running it. I ended up getting a swivel stud picitiny rail mount. Seems to be fine so far!

Oh duh, now I feel like an idiot. That's so simple and I never considered it. I might switch to something like that on my AR10. I think I might be able to fit it in the case with the light attached with it mounted that way too.

Thanks

Here is another option.
It is made to mount on your scope tube.
It has a quick disconnect thumb knob as well to take it off and on.

When you disconnect it , a piece of picatinny rail stays on gun. And a piece stays on light with the picatinny thumb screw mount.
It will mount right on any picatinny rail.

This mount is adjustable up and down and left and right by thumb screw wheels with detents

I see you like that coyote cannon, I’ve been reading on them myself.

I would like to know how far you can see to positive ID and how far you can see to shoot with it.

I’m wondering if it has more range then what I’m currently using when I use my 4k gun.

Tbh, I really haven't tested it that much yet. I was easily able to ID a fox at over 300 yards, but its capable of way more. There is a video on YouTube of a guy calling in yotes from 600 yards. If you squint hard enough you can see them at that distance

That's what I'm running now. It came in a kit along with their IR light. It's a nice light upgrade. Came with a dimmer switch too.

Wolverines-
I’m using the nightsnipe ns750 as well. I have both IR bulb types. I like the 850nm over the 940nm bulb, it’s brighter but also more visible to the animals from what I read.

I have been looking at coyote cannon. Just not sure if it’s worth it... I’d like to know more about the coyote cannon. I have seen a lot of utube vids and it looks impressive.

But it is nothing compared to the hogster 35.
Every now and then I used my ATN 4k gun, but mostly it’s loaned out.
