More helmet options

What’s your guys thoughts on helmet mounted options for monoculars? I’m wishing there were more of them and less of the handheld options. Agm has a 384 and 640 and iray does too and so does rix I guess. I’d much rather run my scanner on a helmet vs trying to hold it up all night. I’m running my old tiapan on my helmet and while it works great I’d still like something more compact that has a good image with a little bit of magnification and still a big field of view.

I’ve only hunted with my AGM seeker, while helmet mounted, one time far. I really like helmet mounted over holding the scanner. To me, I feel like I don’t move as much while helmet mounted and the picture seems steadier. Also not fumbling or stowing the scanner while a coyotes coming in has been a big advantage for me.

So far, I’m pretty content with having 1.5 base magnification on the scanner. Anymore and I feel like I would miss stuff. I got to play around with a pulsar telos the other week and it was a bit too much magnification for my liking. I’m a rookie though.

The AGM taipan/seeker is a bit obnoxious though. Had to put counter weights on the other night.

I might have the opportunity to use a Nox 18 soon. That Rix ST6 looks pretty nice.

If I bought a new one right now it would be the rix. I wish they made a 384 version of it. I don’t really need a 640 scanner. I just wanna see a hot spot and see if it’s coming at me.

I’ve got the same way of thinking as you right now now. This potential NOX 18 run might change my mind but I’ll report back if that happens.

For what it’s worth, last week I had no issues telling I had coyotes running in from about 400 yards and in. Had a bunch of deer around too and never felt like I needed to switch to the scope to confirm they were deer. My 384 scanner at 1.5 has mag is doing fine for me right now.
