Modified (Customized) T/C Ventures

Has anyone done any modifying of their T/C Ventures. I see bolt handle options and Boyds stocks. Not much out there or so it seems. I'm not a fan of the plastic stocks and thinking a change is needed but I'm not to crazy about what I'm finding at Boyds either. If you have one you've worked on post up a picture. New barrel, new stock or even just a paint job. I'd like to see what you've done.

I won't be much help here. I have 2 Ventures and an Icon. They shoot so incredibly well that I don't want to mess with them at all. I'm talking insanely accurate and I'm a "If it ain't broke.......don't fix it" kinda guy.

My 338wm venture changed poi when using bipod/bags/sled. Didn't like that. The forend was very flexible, so I stiffened it up. Heated a piece of #9 wire and melted passages thru the honeycomb structure in the stock. Found some 24hr 2 part epoxy and filled the honeycomb sectioned almost to the top. No longer any flex and most important no more poi change with a support change. Also had a gs thread and make a custom brake for it. Now I can shoot it in just a t-shirt and not regret it after 4-5 rounds, actually fun to shoot now as it is well under the factory 3 shot moa promise. And it is a 338wm so at the range no one else asks to shoot it, saves me ammo components.

I had a 338wm winchester with a custom sex change (brake). Insanely fun to shoot after the operation. Not so much beforehand. Use to coyote hunt and shoot jack rabbits with it. Should have never sold it.

My Venture isn't exactly what I consider a tack driver but I have finally found a load that's shoots under an inch. But dang I hate that plastic stock.

The flimsy flexing stock makes the bag/rest setup important and how you hold the rifle. You could put a barrel deresonator on it about 1/4" of the stock, tune out toward the muzzle.

I was getting lousy groups when I let the fore-end rest on the front rest and squeeze the rear bag. I changed my way of holding the rifle. I held the fore-end in the front rest with my left hand and applied a slight hold. It seemed to tighten the groups up a little. Its not the way I ordinarily shoot a rifle but it seemed to help this rifle.

I have a TC Venture II In 223/5.56. 1in 9 twist 5R rifling, rust proof coating, Houge stock, very stiff, no give with this stock.
I have 2 mags for it, a 3 shot & a 6 shot bought online several yrs ago. It's the most accurate rifle I own. I handload & this rifle shoots everything great from 77gr Sierra's, 75gr Hornady's, all the 68; s & 69; s match bullets. All the way down to the Speer # 1035 52 gr HP. Very slick 3 lug bolt, awesome trigger. I load long to 2.370 right now, I can go to 2.400 OAL. It'll shoot 2 more gr of LVR this way just in front of the lands, mags will take a hair more. It's threaded too. This gun is a keeper.

Pretty sure mines an older version with a slower twist. Triggers is creepy and non adjustable. I may clip a coil off the trigger spring and at least get it a little lighter. I haven't got a lot of love for this rifle as of yet. Haven't totally gave up on it yet but sending it down the road won't break my heart either.
