I have a ruger american that needs a new prefit barrel i would like to find some who has 3r polygonal blanks an can chamber one in 22 creedmoor..... or just a 3 groove or 4 groove... they just seem like they clean easier an I get a little more velocity... I found one company who has 4 groove might go that route unless you knowledgeable guys know of someone else out there any recommendations are appreciated..
TIA

I know Black Hole Weaponry does polygonal rifling. Their web site doesn't seem to show it anymore, but if you contact them, they should be able to contour to your liking and chamber it in 22 Creedmoor. Not sure if they do Ruger American though. I have two 20-inchers from them (Savage threads). The first one hammers. The second one is waiting its turn.

That's were I got one back in the day an I got a 3r polygonal 6max barrel from solgw an I would bet money on it that its a bhw barrel... but same thing went to there site an they have somthing called "claw rifling" similar maybe? But then I can only find it for 6.5 an 308...

Unfortunately, IME, their communication skills are lacking. I would try to give them a call. Sooner or later, someone will pick up the phone.
They just got back to me an said they only do pre fits for savage an they can't name any smiths that use there blanks 🤷‍♂️
I believe Ritch’s Precision uses there blanks ill try an get ahold of him.. I know he doesn't list 22 creed on his site though...
Crown ridge barrel works uses a shilen 4 groove ratchet barrel so that might be my best route...

I wish I would've went to school to run a lathe..
I could make my own pre fit an everyone else's 🤣

This is the perfect thread I was looking for. I just saw that BHW Claw rifleing for the first time and I was just thinking of ordering one for my large shank savage. They sure dont give much info about the claw thing, the pictures looks like it could be just small geometry changes to their original 3P.

Ive got BHW 223 and it took me awhile to figure out good loads and what the differences of these poly twist are. Hahaha, mine shot 14moa with 53Vmax and CFE223, i switch to 53Vmax and Benchmark and all is well again.

Ive done a bit of testing with HBN lube recently for bullets and barrel, it seems to me the lube offers nearly the same benefits as the polytwist, stacked on top of each other and handloads can seemingly safely go off the charts. I got some HBN lubed 53 TSX with H322 behind a lab radar shooting 3330fps from 16" 1-8 BHW, thats screaming pretty good out of an AR carbine. And accuracy is fantastic with those. I had a few HBN lubed 65SGK and I was shooting them safe with a max compressed case full of Benchmark. CCI450 primers are good, I have had some split case necks but I havent annealed my 223 in 10 years and im just testing on the max side. I reloaded for a buddies 13.5" and 18" 6.8 SPC with BHW, i didnt experement as much with those but they showed the same signs. An AR15 in 6.8 with Barnes bullets and BHW barrel is a heck of a rifle I would trust it against nearly any animal in the woods.

Im getting a 22" inch BHW barrel in 260AI, I think i can get it to beat the 30" 260AI barrel on the action now. I see they only do the Claw rifling in .264 which is convenient for me but I dont see it available in the bolt action section, only 6.5 grendel and such, maybe AR10 6.5 creed but I forget, I need bolt action. Claw rifling, whatever it is, or not I think these poly twist are an awesome option for handloaders. If i was stuck with factory ammo I might change my mind, I havent tested it.

I have a solgw 6max barrel its 14.5" an I believe that is a bhw barrel.... less than 50ish rounds through it I was averaging 3370-80fps with my hand loaded 55gr noslers.... I still have some room to go up but I'm just trying to get the barrel broke in first before I start seeing what it can do... I would assume it will speed up some once its broken in also... um unfamiliar with the lubed bullets do you buy them that way or is it something you can do to them? Thats pretty dang good velocity for a 556 🚀

The HBN lube is a dry powder, toss some cheap copper coated BBs into a tumbler safe jar then add your bullets and lube and tumble it. It can be a hastle for not a lot of gain but if you like playing around with loading like me its cool stuff.
