This has been discussed in various other threads. If you hear them howl, but they don't come, try to get closer. Well, if the conditions and property ownership allow, yes, it can work.

I don't night hunt, but this works during the day as well. It doesn't work every time, but it is definitely worth trying. I've done it successfully several times.
