It's time to start stocking up again...

I don't consider myself a hoarder, although I do shop for bargains and purchase accordingly. Just browsing Midway shows a lot of pretty good buys on everything from brass to Vmax bullets and even primers are coming down with cci 400's just under $70 per k. I've seen some really good buys on loaded ammo also. Every day I get emails from the big retailers offering sales or free shipping or hazmat. I think primer prices will continue to fall so I'm giving those a bit more time.

The time is ripe, before Nov it would be wise to buy up whatever you think you might need imo. If Trump wins, well, we all win, and stocking up wasn't necessary. But I'm not counting on that.

if your'e just starting now to stock back up, you're 6 months late. too many people are thinking the same thang you are right now. although i dont think the crush will hit until after the sentencing in NY next month.

if that wonker judge sends him to jail, all bets are off and the shelves are gonna be empty.

Prices coming down? Shoot powder around here s still about $50 a pound. One component that seems never went up that high and still reasonable today around here is Speer bullets. have started using them again myself. Always liked them but Hornady's were just a bit more accurate.

we're never gonna see $20/lb pricing again. ever. get used to that idea.

personal opinion : we'll be lucky to see $35-40/lb as the "new normal" and then only if we have a seismic shift in both the political sphere *and* the supply chain prices.

however $50/lb is absolutely coming down from $65+/lb.

Yeah powders are ridiculous still, as are most primers. But, ammo is coming down as are some of the bullets. There are some downright bargains out there, which couldn't be said a year or two ago. People are not buying much of anything right now, which will lower prices.

I think the hoarders have already horded. Not to mention they probably horded prior to the shortage. I'd say the supply will go up and the prices will settle out a bit. Who knows what could happen before the election though. Lots of non citizens lurking.

I keep a steady inventory so I can hunt and shoot for a few years before I get desperate. One thing nice at 77 the last inventory doesn't need to be as deep as it did a 40.

That's true.

Shutting down loading room and sold 48# of powder @ $20/# and 120 flats of primers @ $4 ea. last week. Must have been priced right, the buyer drove over 700 miles to pick it up.

thats less than half of market price, so yea... i'm supprised you didnt have to beat them with a stick to keep people out of your inbox at those prices.

Powder prices online are at least coming down.
Retailers aren't going to be as quick to mark down prices on items that they purchased when prices were higher.

Im doing what I can within my budget to stock up when I can.
I just bought another couple Thousand primers through Midway myself.
I am concerned that it is going to get bad again in the next few months.

Yes I’m 56 I have a fairly good inventory of power and bullets primers used to shoot target but now really only shoot targets for load development and zeroing leaving the rest for hunting IMG_8381.jpeg

I bought a 1000 Win LR today. That gets me in pretty good shape with those and what I have shelved. If I run across CCI LRP I'll try to grab a brick of those as they are my go-to in a couple of rifles. Bullets are next on the list.

I hadn't put them online due to the fact it would have to be face to face. Sold a bunch of powder earlier to another fellow that only had to drive a couple hundred miles before I decided to shut 'er down. Both of these fellows bought some other components, tools etc. and when I found they were in Texas, I asked if they might be interested in some powder/primers. Both took all I offered at the time, so it was a good deal for all concerned; I didn't have to piece it out.:D

Powder vallley has a LOT of powders in the 37 to 39 range, the common cheaper ball powders., and buddy sent me pic of scheels shelves so full of powders ya couldn't get any more on the shelves. 3 weeks ago midway had Tac on sale 32.95/lb....figured be long te before ya see that ago. lve seen couple vids how upcoming powder shortagr gonna be worst than last time as new 155 mm arty plant and gov realizing they have only a fraction what needed for major ground war if needed and a certain point all available powder will go towards gov contracts and restocking arsenals, but sure don't seem like huge shortage around corner by looks right now
