If money was not a concern, which rifle would you choose?

If you had a chance to pick a rifle that you didnt have to pay for, what would it be? Only guidelines is it has to be factory built, no customs. The rifle will also not allowed to be modidfied in anyway i.e. trigger work,bedded action, floated barrel, unless it comes from the factory that way. Have at it.
 
If money was no object its doubtful I would be sitting here at work answering forum questions.

That not withstanding it would be an HS Precision ultra light in .300 WSM with a slick NF scope mounted on top.

They come from the factory as well prepared to be used as any rifle could.
 
Do you not think the Gov't has their choice of any rifle they want. Let me guess, you think they spend our money conservatively? LMAO.......

They choose Remington 700s over all others. Hard to argue with facts, ain't it?
 
The US government also pays $ 300 for a toilet seat. Government contracts dictate allot of what they buy. The rem 700 is a great gun no doubt, no argument here.

The fact remains, Savage is not the top choice of ANYONE(military, law enforcement, custom builders, custom gun owners, benchrest shooters, guides, PHs, or anybody else) who can afford better.......

I think the idea here is rifles that are stock out of box, not custom or military or law enforcement. Out of the box.

Savage for me if its going to be "factory".
I do not not need expensive or fancy to get the job done myself.

2much, you maybe should take a peek over the Savage forums, tons of custom builders, bench rest shooters & more use that brand & action to build off of.
 
I'm sure if you went to the Yugo drivers forum you could find lots of guys that customize Yugos also. You still won't find many of them at the track.............

I would like to know what "factory" means. I am not trying to start an argument. Just looking to lay groundwork for everyone else in their thoughts.
