Thanks. It’s a good shooting gun. I’ve been shooting the Hornady 55gr VmaxIt’s 1-14. I own 2 of them.
They definitely make the 8 twist 22-250. I have one in a t3x. It’s accurate but slow as hell.8 twist 223. I have never seen a 8 twist 22-250 barrel come out of the SAKO factory. I wish they would make one.
I have a 8 twist also,, 20 inch… factory… mine shoots good… 10 or so years on this one…They definitely make the 8 twist 22-250. I have one in a t3x. It’s accurate but slow as hell.
Yep I got the same one. Mine doesn’t look like a tikka anymore with all the aftermarket stuff on it but I love that gun.I have a 8 twist also,, 20 inch… factory… mine shoots good… 10 or so years on this one…
I've read this comment a lot about Tikka's and why I haven't bought one. The fastest twist I would run in a 22-250 or AI is 9 but I prefer a 12 T as I want to run 50-55 grains as fast as I can without the worry of them coming a part or splashes due to RPM's over 300K. I built a 22 CM with fast twist to run heavies between 62-90 grainers and brass is much easier to find and make plus I can drive a 62 with Staball 6.5 to 3800 FPS out of 24" barrel without going over book max. However, my best accuracy (node) is between 3500-3600 FPSIt’s accurate but slow as hell.
Mine shoots the 50 and 53 grain vmax into tiny little groups. By far the easiest bullets I’ve done load dev for with my tikka. How are the 1:8 Tikkas doing with 50-55gr Vmax?
Debating buying one, but want to have barrel cut to 18” for suppressor
