Looking at ammo for a tikka 6.5 creedmoor I have on the way. I was curious if anyone has experience with this round. Thanks

They’ll go bang. Probably kill what your aiming at if you hit it in the right spot. Try a box and see if your gun likes them.

I've shot them in my savage 6.5 and they shot about 3/4" at 100 yards off the bench.I know that is better than I can do when hunting.

I found a case of that ammo at a very cheep price so bought it. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it shot. Under and inch. I used it on Texas White tails and all were bang flops. All the shots were under 150 yards but preformed very good.

They shoot good but I wasn't happy about their performance on a doe I shot. She was 200 yds, didn't get an exit and no blood trail. I did find her but wasn't impressed. 243 with an 80gr barnes penetrated better than the 129gr 6.5.

129g sst will not penetrate sometimes, but the 129g Hornady sp penetrates very well. Rhett, I think that your particular situation was not "normal" performance for the 129g Lead tip sp, quirky things do happen.

I shot a lot of deer and hogs with this 129g lead tip sp in a 264 Win Mag, and no doubt would be one of my first choices in the 6.5 creed and 6.5x47.

I'm turning into a big fan of Barnes bullets. I don't know what Barnes offers for 6.5 but in my 270 they shoot good and penetrate good as well. All I know about the Amer. Whitetail is what I have seen on videos and they were just punching paper and the accuracy was pretty good. Its pretty easy to penetrate paper though.

Had time to sight it in and shoot 2 groups Sunday. Only 3 shot groups at 100 so far but first group was 3/4” and second 1/2”. I’m extremely happy with that especially considering the price I got it for.

Excellent ammo for Deer. The Deer I shot with mine literally flipped over backwards and died with its legs in the air. LOL
A once in a lifetime I know, but still it was impressive.

As Ackleyman said the 129 gr softpoint will do well. It's an old school Bullet but does have the Interlock in the jacket. I ve shot a lot of these in .284 dia, 139 s , and they re accurate and work well on game.

Friend shot a bull elk with one in his 7RM and did the trick although I think it's a little light for that size of game. Will do great through and including mule Deer.

They are very accurate in my Ruger American 6.5 . I haven't shot anything with mine but Hogs are on the list in the next few weeks.
