Joe has nothing to lose. He'll never face voters again. there's absolutely no way to call him on his lies or hypocrisy, as pardons are well withing his powers.

An really, he'd be even stupider than usual to not pardon his son. Except that in the long run it may turn out that it's just one more time of enabling him & doesn't really help him in the end

well I was reading somewhere IF Hunter is called to testify in a trial now, he cannot plead the 5th, don't know if that's true or not.

Prosecutors stated that bank records from between 2016 and 2019 show that Hunter Biden earned $7 million from his work with Ukrainian-based Burisma Holdings and other firms. Political opponents of former Vice President Biden alleged potential conflicts of interest, particularly after Tony Bobulinski accused Biden of benefiting from his son’s business dealings in Ukraine while he was vice president.
The House voted against impeaching Biden in September 2023 after the GOP led an inquiry into Bobulinski’s claims.
Biden said on Dec. 1 it is his view that the charges against his son were the result of the actions of his political opponents in Congress in order to attack him and deter Americans from supporting him in the 2020 election.
The president said that the carefully negotiated plea deal for his son’s tax fraud case had ultimately failed due to political pressure from his opponents on the legal process.
“Had the plea deal held, it would have been a fair, reasonable resolution of Hunter’s cases,” he said in the statement announcing the pardon.
“No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son—and that is wrong,” Biden said. “Enough is enough.”
Biden added, “I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice—and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further.
“I hope Americans will understand why a father and a president would come to this decision.”

IIRC it wasn't that Hunter didn't get taxes paid but that it way paid by others who claimed it was a 'forgiven' loan - which he didn't claim - as income! So, double fraud.
 
This all goes back to Ukraine. Hunter was appointed to Burisma in 2014 and began his influence peddling scheme off of daddy's name.
Millions upon millions of dollars were made by the Biden Crime Syndicate from this deal and others that followed.
No, Joe isn't being a good father, he's being a good mob boss and protection his interest in all of this.
They are traitorous thugs who projected their own crimes onto the Donald Trump. Joe is an enemy of America and so is his son Hunter.

It is hard for me to get very wound up over this, , it doesn't take away from the smile on my face knowing that Trump's cases were dismissed. In my opinion, it's a beautiful trade-off. Yes, I understand they were dismissed with prejudice, but they have lost the initiative. For anyone who cannot let go, good luck with your crusade in four years…

We also found out that Biden has been sending BILLIONS in cash to Afghanistan. Blinken had no explanation why with NONE, ZERO diplomatic oversight in the country the money was going there. 75 MILLION to "teach women agriculture" in a country where women are not allowed to go to school or in some chases go out in public. 280 million to UN for cash food transfers, but no agricultural produce/grains from U.S. farmers? 14.9 million to teach Afghans to weave carpet. ALL DEMOCRAT ideals and agendas.
