Hearing Protection

I'm looking for a new set of ear muffs for the wife. She wants an electric type so she can hear better. Also would like a behind the head band/strap so she can wear hats easier. What does anyone recommend? I'd like to keep these under $100.

About the only ones I can find that meet the criteria are Peltor Tactical 6 model. But they only offer 19 db NRR. She would like more since her current muffs offer that and she says it isn't enough. The Peltor Pro model would be good with 25 db reduction, but they are $250.

I wear the Peltors with disposable foam plugs in my ears. The amplification increases my hearing through the plugs, and when the muffs shut down I have double protection.
I can shoot beside guns with muzzle brakes with no discomfort at all wearing both, but either one is not enough alone.

Do you find in warmer weather that they start sliding down on sweat? The plugs under is a good idea, hopefully she will be OK with that idea.

Not if you adjust the head band.
