Good 24 Hours

Thinking I'm about done with deer season I switched gears back to night time coyote hunting. As I entered the field just before dark I saw a few deer run off but couldn't tell if they were bucks or doe.

After about an hour of darkness, a nice size buck walked past me and came from the direction the deer I saw earlier ran off towards... he milled around for a good hour and was about 100 yards off when I shot this coyote.

Eventually he made his way back past me and I could tell he was a nice one... but being night time and all that of course all I could do was admire him.

This afternoon at about 2:30 I figured that buck was super relaxed and if I set up in the field just maybe he will come out and feed. Sure as heck, at about 5:00 pm he stepped out of the wood line at about 75 yards to my 9:00, I dropped him in his tracks... pretty sure he's the one I saw last night.

Would have been a very nice 8-pt full mount but he has a broken off G1 and G2 from fighting. He tipped the scale at 160 pounds. I used a Aero M5 in .308 and he never knew what him. 168gr TAP round did the trick.
