Fully forged nitrous Hemi.

Are there any car, truck or engine guys out there?

Honestly, over the last couple years work and cars has taken all my time and Ive done much less hunting and shooting.

5 years ago I got a good deal on a 2013 Dodge Charger old cop car with the 5.7 Hemi, I got it on an online auction and I never even looked at the thing in person. I saw the car come up a week before and my right foot started feeling HEAVY. This car was one of those strokes of dumb luck. The bidding was going crazy the last day and I figured, well crap, I have to make one offer to say I tried at least. Offers were coming in every 10-15 minutes and I increased the bid by the minimum $75 and that was it, no one placed another bid for 3 hours! And I dont think this was a Minnesota cop car, it doesnt have the rust, it has some rust now but not like what can happen.

I got it with 142,xxx miles and drove it until 260,xxx and parked it this fall. I liked the car so much, there were so many parts available and there was so little rust I planned a rebuild. I had a lot of research ahead of me, Im no mechanical putz but Ive never done a fully engine tearout and rebuild on a modern V8 muscle car. I think I made up my mind what I wanted to do and started my homework Sept. of 2023 and started buying parts that following Black Friday.

As one does in a project, I bought more things than originaly planned. Now Ive got a Scat Pac 6.4 intake manifold, fully forged rotating assembly to 1:12 compression, major injector and fuel pump upgrade for E85 fuel, long tube headers, Hellcat catback exhaust, ported and polished heads, stage 2 camshaft, all the valvetrain upgrades and a racing valve body for my transmission. Along with a few other things, like electronics and custom tuning.

The machine shop called yesturday and he is done with his part, now I have to pick everything up and put it back together. I should match or beat a stock 6.4 Hemi Scat Pac at all times, I should get 430-450 rear wheel horsepower without any help but with all the parts Ive added the engine can handle 900hp and the transmission can handle 750hp and it should safely rev to 7000rpm. I dont plan on turbos or supercharger but a nitrous kit is some good, comparatively cheap fun with the push of a button. For a modern V8 with what Ive done a 200hp shot of nitrous should get me up to around 650hp and be safe for everything. Im getting excited, Ive sunk money into a Harley back in the day but this is more money and A LOT more power. Unlike a rifle, with engine, you really cant just upgrade a piece at a time or keep to much of a budget, if you want something big and digging all the way down to the crankshaft, you are just going to have to put everything in when you have the chance.

Are there any other engine guys on here? What are you driving or building???
