Florida Coyote Calling - WMA Land

Hey guys, haven’t been on predator masters for almost a year now but wanted to share a quick story. I recently moved from Arizona to Florida for work and miss coyote calling in the high deserts of northern Arizona. Since small game season has finally came around on my local WMA I decided to go out and give it a shot. Found plenty of coyote tracks on the dirt roads and was able to connect with one yesterday evening. This one came out at the 7 minute mark to Brown Thrasher distress. Came out of the brush facing me at 10 yards and 00 buckshot did the trick.

If anyone else has experience calling coyotes in Florida, especially south florida feel free to reach out! Im currently located near Punta Gorda / Cape Coral.

Congrats on a successful hunt! Getting it done in a new location, under different conditions has to feel pretty good! Looks like a nice one too. Good going!

I was told that coyotes were pretty thick on Sanibel Island, but that was prior to the hurricane. I doubt you can hunt there but it's nice to know coyotes are around.

Keep us posted on the coyote hunting in S.Florida.

An airgun hunt for Iguanas looks like fun, plus a python hunt could be interesting.

Never seen a coyote down there, seen bears and mountain lions, but no coyotes. Don’t think I’ve heard any either now that I’m thinking about it. Of course this was early March time frame while turkey hunting.

Like many places, Florida has a very healthy coyote population, especially in urban areas.

Congrats OP... I've hunted coyote here in Florida at night on private property for years. Glad to see you removing them from the WMA.
