I got bronchitis 2 days after Christmas along with a stomach bug a week later that knock the crap out of my energy for 3 weeks then the "blast" hit and Suz said at my age I have no business being out there in those temps (and she didn't get an argument).
I did make one set last Tue. but froze out and made 5 sets Thurs. (was in the high 20's) but heard nor saw nothing.
Well last night it was 20 with 5-10 winds so I went and got on the board in the first set. The call was in a fence line 50yds North of me and I was facing West with a W wind. Nothing to the 6 min of quiet stuff so I went into a breeding routine and had a male show up into some submissives at about 25 min.. He would not leave the wood line at my West and started to leave (ambient light from the cloud cover and town 3/4 mile away made the field look like it was a bright moon). I muted as soon as I saw it and 3-4 times bark or howled him to a stop but each time he was behind trees until he wasn't. Approx 120yds but he ran another 125 yds (per onx).
When I looked back to my set from where he was it is a wonder the bullet even got through to him, let alone be together enough to cause damage. As we all know, small stuff doesn't show well in thermal. Anyhow, I thought I hit 'record' but with my thicker gloves I guess I didn't.
