After shooting 1 coyote, what are you guys using to make the others stop for a shot? I never had much luck with pup distress

Bark with your mouth or whistle. If they don't stop, shoot them. If they're flat out running they probably won't stop. If they're loping away they're probably going to. Sometimes you don't even have to bark. They just stop on their own. It depends on the coyote too. If they're paired up the survivor will sometimes come back looking for the other one. That's why I try to shoot the female coyote first. Generally females don't do that. Male coyotes are more likely to come back or at least stop long enough to shoot. In my opinion anyways. I've never seen a female coyote even stop until she's 5 or 600 yards out there.

You'll notice OK carefully avoided using the words always and never :) . There are occasional exceptions, here is one of those rare exceptions.

This pair came running to the call with gusto (yellow line), male in the lead and I dropped him as he approached the call. He fell where he lies. The female was a few feet behind him and at the shot she turned inside out, retreating before I could get on her & disappeared into the brush (yellow line again). I hit pup distress and was surprised when she stepped back into the sendero, stood broadside (red dot), looking back. I wiffed a quick one in her direction. Sat there kicking myself for hurrying the shot. I was surprised when, a few seconds later with the kiyi still running, the female re-entered the sendero and ran back where I shot her just a few feet beyond the call.

whimpers usually work. i have stopped them by barking and whining with my mouth, trying to imitate a hurt coyote.

if they keep running, let them go, come back and call another day or try later the same night.

I use the old mouthed Bark woof woof sometimes. also been using a ( squeaker bulb ) that I robed from inside a old dogs chew toy . 'squeaker' I put it inside a little pouch I made, that is on a lanyard to my belt. Squeaker sits in my L-front pant packet for a dozen+ years . A squeaker Bulb is pretty loud at nighttime.
When I on the gun, All I do is just reach down with left hand and give it a tap. It really works great to get a dog to stop and pose. If I want a dog to hear it that is a couple hundred yards out, I just pull squeaker out of my pocket and give a couple hard loud squeezes.

just a mouth bark. some will not stop. The ones that will not stop are the ones I think that have become hypnotized with the sound and even when its off they still are hearing it. Even gun shots often will not phase them. There is a balance to be struck with calls and pauses, you want enough the mezmorize them but not so much that you can't bark them to a stop. OR you better be prepared to machine gun them. ideally you have the caller blazing and the coyote stops, you make the shot and the caller masks the shot a little.

years ago when I only ran the caller for short bursts of 1 minute or so. I never had a problem stopping a coyote. but then again I didn't get multiples very often, either.

all this stuff was back when coyotes actually coming in was far more common for me. these days Its like holy shit a coyote is coming in!

I growl at them very aggressively and loud. It seems to stop them at a higher rate than anything else. I think it works because they are expecting it. They are coming in to eat something, or because they think there is another coyote/ coyotes there. A growl is what they are waiting to hear. It's the thing that warns them of the danger. If they aren't sprinting away, it works almost every time.

Coming in before a shot I start with a simple lip squeak or kiss sound to get them to stop. After a shot I kiyi on a mouth diaphragm or hit the ecaller with pup screams or kiyi's, or bark or woof them to try and stop them. Up here in the northeast, I agree with bohunr on just letting them go if they won't stop and they're out there running off full tilt. I'll come back in a few days or weeks depending on what transpired, and try to get a second crack at that joker!
