Didn’t take too long…

I was out at the Plantation Tuesday evening and ran into the manager. He told me he saw a bobcat down a road when he went to wrap pipes at the old horse barn. He told me to set a couple traps if I wanted because we wouldn’t be hunting that course for a couple of weeks. He said if I put them in view of the camera we use to monitor for trespassers he’d keep an eye out and tell me when I caught something.

I went a placed a set I knew he could see from the camera and placed another a little farther down on the opposite side of the road. I had a camera in the truck so I stuck it monitoring that set.

Finished up the last set at 6:19pm

At 9:33pm a fox shows up.

At 9:34pm he’s caught.

I placed that set on a drag and was a little worried even though I’d hooked it around the tree, so I went and took care of the fox and reset it and secured the loop around the tree with a quick link. The bobcat came through but paid no attention to the set.

I went back yesterday evening and made sure the set was the way I wanted it since it was daylight and added some lure even though it was baited with some scraps my wife had cut off a roast.
Around 2am a cat came strolling by again.

Now the pics a little blurry, but that’s him getting snapped, lol.

Now this is on the drag with about 10ft of chain and this was the last pic I got before the manager went out to take care of the cat. It appears he did a little climbing!

And finally the manager taking a pic for me.

We have a Christmas Parade this evening that my Granddaughter is in, but after the parade ends I’ll head back out and reset and see if the third night will produce.

Ok, third night was a bust. Didn’t get the set reset until about 8:30pm. We had a slight warmup yesterday, but it’s back cold again today.
Yesterday’s kitty was a female so hoping she left plenty of scent and that male on camera will come back through and get caught. And normally where there’s one Fox, there’s another. Seems I normally catch them in pairs.

If I post the good, I’ll post the ugly too. Last night a fox and coyote checked out the set and both gave me the middle toe, lol.

First the fox…

Have no clue why they didn’t commit other than the fact both checked out where that bobcat laid after dispatch while I remade the set.

I put up a couple more cameras and sets to see where exactly they’re coming from.
