Coyotes: Love Them Or Hate Them?

I like them so much that I spend thousands of dollars and priceless hours/days of my life chasing them. Literally everywhere I drive, I’m always thinking about how I’d call certain areas. I think a member (jeep) back in 2001 said it best;
ONLY,A BIG BULL ELK AND A COYOTE ,COMING IN AT A RUN, TO ABOUT 10 FEET, CAN MAKE MY HEART POUND LIKE NO TOMORROW, "GOT TO LOVE IT"

I’m most likely one of the younger guys on here at the baby age of 32 but I only get excited about elk and coyotes anymore. Coyotes have quickly taken the number 1 spot within this past year.

Put me in the love category. They are something that consumes my mind 24/7 and makes me spend so much time preparing the next strategy in my mind that is going to fool them into gun range. Sometimes I win. Sometimes they win. I never leave the field with hatred in my heart or mind for such an amazing animal. I do on occasion see the harm they cause, and I appreciate the views of the people it impacts. The selfish side of me loves that those people hate coyotes. It's for that reason that they call me to help them out and allow me to chase my passion!

I don't love them or hate them. I love huntin them. If they were all exterminated I wouldn't be able to do that so I definitely don't hate them. There are some animals I disklike, skunks for example. Because they stink but they obviously serve a purpose or they wouldn't be here. For me it's hard to hate an animal of any kind. Hate them for what, doing what they were designed to do?

The only living beings on this earth that deserve hate are some human beings. They have a choice in what they do on this earth. Evil people aren't driven by instinct. Animals are driven to do what they do out of a natural instinct to survive at all cost. They do wrong without knowing it's wrong. People on the other hand do things out of pure evil or disregard for other people's well being. Even a rattlesnake has the common courtesy to warn you before you step on it. A person will hurt you without any reason. So I can't say I truly hate any animal. They're just trying to make a livin, same as we are.

I can see a ranchers side of it. But I can also see it from the coyotes point of view. They didn't move onto land with livestock on it. Someone moved livestock onto their land. Unfortunately for them, coyotes ain't against eating baby animals. Wild or not. To me hating coyotes because they eat fawns or the occasional calf makes about as much sense as hating dogs for barking or a bird for singing a song.

The only critters on this earth that I find repulsive are rats and mice. But they too serve a purpose. Feeding the predators that fly, crawl upon the earth or walk on 4 legs. They're disgusting creatures but their existence is necessary. And so the cycle continues. Without these predators, some of which are hated by humans. Disease from these vermin would plague humans. I'd rather have a coyote walk through my yard or have a big snake living under my house than a wood rat pissin and crappin all up in my silverware drawer. That's just my personal preference though. I'm not real big on the idea of exterminating any species of animal. Unless we're talking about pedophiles, murderers, thieves, ect. We'd do just fine without those. I'm not a real firm believer that every person serves a purpose. I like animals way more. Even the ones that'll bite your ass and kill ya. But....maybe I'm just frickin mean too so what would I know?

When was the last time you made a decent thread? I don't recall seeing any
Not sure how to take your post Newpond? Seems kinda confrontational. If so, it’s unnecessary.

Yellowhammer has been here forever! And he’s a PM staff member. I think he was just pointing out that some of the original posters had passed on, and nothing more. He would know.. you know… being around for as long as he has and all.
I think his reply was way confrontational and regardless of his or my social status here it's a relevant thread. What's also relevant is if to keep the forum going and growing rather than decaying there needs to be threads and activity. so I got straight to the point of the matter which is getting decent threads going to stimulate participation and activity
