Hey forum. i live in Saint Louis, MO. I have been rabbit hunting for the last.....15 years near Decatur, IL in the winter. This winter I am looking into coyote hunting for the first time and wanted to know if anyone knew any places in Missouri or Illinois? Thank you guys.

Head down south (Interstate 55)and ask a few Farmers if You can Coyote Hunt,You may be surprised at how many will let You if Your sincere and respect their property!

There is also plenty of Public Land,Conservation Ground,Mark Twain National Forest where You are allowed to hunt Coyotes too!

There are several Guys Predator Hunting in Illinios, just need to check their regulations on what can be hunted and what caliber Rifles are allowed?I think Your not allowed to shoot Bobcats in Illinios...here in Missouri You can Hunt Coyotes about 9-10 months out of the year,Furbearers have a certain Season in MO. when they can be Hunted, its usually the middle of Nov to the end of Jan.!

Welcome to PM ....!

From the St. Louis area I would be scouting out 44 Hwy or 70 Hwy and on out toward the large lake complexes in mid-state, or Fort Leonard Wood or due north toward Mark Twain Lake. There is a heck of a lot of game of all sorts in those fertile rolling farmlands. Deer, turkey, rabbit, quail, farm livestock and fowl coupled with more diverse cover and topography (read: predator smorgasbord) make those areas much better hunting than the large expanses of steep and rough timbered Mark Twain National Forest down south. Easier hunting, more critters, and people willing to offer access for predator removal along with a good amount of public ground make it an easy choice of areas to look toward.

I hunt a lot of the public ground around central Missouri and have good luck at most of them. Also have a lot of private ground too. It is easy to get places to hunt coyotes, a little bit harder to find deer hunting places.
