Colorado To Ban Mountain Lion and Bobcat Hunting

The title is quite misleading. There was bill put forth by a state legislator to do that, but it never made it anywhere and was dead on arrival. But, that is also old news, unless there has been some other development.

Yes, and no.

Yes, spring bear and leg hold traps have been banned, since about 1993-95, or so.

No, because most of the fault lies with us, the hunting community.

I was speaking to a Colorado DOW guy back then, and he said we will lose, because LESS THAN 30% of Colorado hunters were registered to vote!

Think about that for a month or two.

It was the 'tree huggers' that got the bill up for a vote, but it was hunters that did not get out and vote against it!

We have to vote, and make sure our hunting buddies vote. We have to!

More than 80% of voters in Colorado are registered. Unfortunately the largest block of registered voters are unaffiliated(about 40%). The next largest block, registered democrats, that's Colorado 2 main problems. If only 30% of hunters are registered to vote, that goes against the statistical average. The lowest percentage of registered voters fall in the green and libertarian parties. So stop letting them "represent" the views and agendas in the state.

It is the lefts agenda to not only ban mountain lion and bobcat hunting, but eventually to ban all hunting. The left is also at war with the cattle and agriculture industry disguised through their green agenda.

So, I see these attempts to implement a ban as a type of beta test of sorts. They'll test the waters with it to see how far they can take it. When they're met with major opposition and backlash they'll drop it and move on to something else only to come back at a later time with the same or similar bill to see how far they can go with it once again.

Or they'll get a petition drive going to put it on the ballot as a ballot measure where low info nincompoops can be persuded to support it as if it is for "the greater good of humanity" like they did with the introduction of wolves in Colorado.

I was reading in my last American Hunter magazine where Colorado Lawmakers voted to shut it down, vote was 4-1, A demarcate senator was the only one that voted to move the bill on.
