Cheap and easy to use game cameras

I bought several BOG Clandestine cameras a couple years ago. They were on a huge sale from about $200 down to about $50. Initially i thought they were great. I like how they are sealed, they seem to keep water out well. I like the built in LCD screen so you can check photos right at the camera, instead of taking the card out and taking it to my house to check on the computer, then taking the SD card back out to the camera. However, after about 1.5 years, 3 of my 5 cameras won't take photos. I put batteries in and set all the settings. When i turn the camera on it flashes a red light on the front indefinitely and takes no photos. 3 cameras are all doing this same problem.

I've tried several ~$40 cameras. (stealthcam, and maybe another similar brand) They have worked alright. Over time i tend to have moisture problems with them and the battery contacts corrode. I've gotten quite a few decent photos from them.

I recently started using TACTACAM cameras. I'm a huge fan of these now. A TACTACAM X2.0, by itself is $100. It's a cell-camera, but you can use it without cell service. FYI, a X2.0 camera, with Lithium battery pack and tactacam SD card, is about $175. $120 for a 1 year subscription of unlimited photos. (or $55 for 250 photos per month, ~8 per day). So about $300 total for a camera set-up and yearly subscription. With the app on my phone, I get a notification and photo straight to my phone in less than a minute of when something passes in front of the camera. These are great for actively monitoring wildlife activity, and also home/property security, etc. I've just started using TACTACAM, but I also like that they advertise you can buy replacement components for their cameras if anything goes bad. (camera module, flash module, etc).

Go to Walmart and buy their cheapest…about $30. Buy the 3 year warranty which about $5. So now you have a $35 camera you can swap out every 3yrs. Yeah, they’re cheap and not exactly HD pics, but if you’re just wanting something where you can pull a card every few days and see what’s coming around, that’s the route to take.

Got my SIL a Campark camera, he got 2 more. Still work after 3 yrs., good pics with IR flash. Solar or batt operated. They are NOT cell cameras as coverage there is non-existant. Light is green feeder light. Low batt so IR light didn't go off. He has it in a shaded area so solar runs down a lot.
