Called all day and got 4 coyotes.

On the first calling stand this morning I started out with Steel Town Grey Fox Pup sound and had a coyote head straight for my X-24. When the coyote was about 30 yards away I put it down with 1-1/2 oz of TSS #3 shot.

About 4 or 5 hours later later I had two coyotes show up about 5 minutes apart on the same stand. The first coyote I put down with TSS #5 shot at 20 big steps away. The second coyote fell dead at 11 steps away from where I was sitting. I used TSS #3 shot on the second coyote.

On the second to last stand of the day I got the fourth coyote with TSS #5 shot at about 30 yards away.

It was a long day, but it was a fun day.

I would just use TSS #4 shot if I could only use one size of TSS shot to hunt coyotes. I really like the higher pellet count of TSS #4 shot over sizes #2 and #3 shot.

On quite a few of my coyote calling stands I can't see past 40 yards so there is really no need to shoot real big pellets with less pellets per shell. I forgot that I had a little over 100 TSS #5 shot 1-1/2 oz loads.

I may start taking one shotgun with a Skeet choke to shoot the 1-1/2 oz loads of TSS #5 shot and my A400 Xtreme with a Mag extension and a Modified choke to shoot my TSS #2, #3 and #4 shot loads.

Below are the pellet counts for 1-1/2 oz of TSS shot and the yardage that they get 3.70" of gel penetration starting out at 1300 fps.

TSS #5, 158 pellets, 62.4 yards.
TSS #4, 124 pellets, 78.9 yards.
TSS #3, 100 pellets, 96.8 yards.
TSS #2, 81 pellets, 115 yards.
