They own Tasco. I’ve called and got through to them a few weeks ago. They will either fix or replace your optic but the shipping to them is out of pocket. They sent me a Tasco world class 4-12 because the techs didn’t want to install crosshairs in my Golden antler. I believe I had to call to get an authorization number first.
My scope is a Simmons Aetec. Ya, I know its a Simmons but the Aetec line use to be a pretty decent scope and it goes on my muzzle loader so it doesn't get used much. Bushnell is handling Simmons warranty now as well. I can get a form to fill out for repair but I just want to know if I need to send return shipping or if they cover that. Use to have to send money for return shipping but thats been a long time ago. I guess I'll fill out the form and send it in. If they need return shipping they'll just have to call me.
They won’t charge you. If it’s a scope that was made before Bushnell acquired them they won’t warranty it. The Golden antler was wasn’t but they screwed up and told me to send it in and it was covered under warranty. Then they returned it with nothing done and said the repair of installing new cross hairs would exceed the cost of the optic. I called and raised a little heck since I spent $15 to send it in and was told it would be repaired under warranty so they sent a replacement optic. I bought a bushnell engage the their day for $97. 1-4x, 30 mm German cross hairs with a red dot. Very clear and bright scope!
I have no idea how old this scope is, I bought it used. Should have known better but it looked good on my muzzle loader and being the Aetec I thought it would be OK. I've had other Aetec's in the past and they were good scopes....for a Simmons. I wish I could talk to Bushnell before spending money to ship it if they won't fix it.
I think I found a number for them. Gonna try to call.
Well I called. Waste of time as all I got was a recording and told me to go to the repair page on the web site. Been there already. I think I'll just wait till hunting season is over and try again.
I have 2 older aetec scopes so running. They have been on everything from 22lr to 338wm and beat to death on 4 wheeler hunting and still hold zero.
My guess is they won't repair it but would probably replace it if it is under warranty.
I picked up a used cheap bushnell 1-6 for my grandsons AR. It crapped out sighting in. Called bushnell and they said send it in , lifetime warranty. I sent it in and they sent me a new scope.
