Big boar this morning

I have not been hitting the lease as much this year as I normally do. Been fishing more, but on top of that we have had a wetter than normal year which has caused road problems. If it is wet, I have not been going.

Through the end of July I have had 65.27 inches of rain at my house with over 13 inches just in July. By contrast, only had 0.25 inches in July last year.

I was running a little late this morning so my feeder was just going off when I got there.

I had not been in the stand this year so I carried a can of wasp spray with me. I opened the door and saw a couple of nests, but also saw 2 hogs already coming out at the feeder. I sprayed the ones I saw and got in the stand and closed the door an opened the window. I could hear a few wasp buzzing around and turned to look in the corner behind my chair and there was a nest with about 50 wasps on it. I carefully got the spray and foamed then down and prayed I was not fixing to get lit up.

The two hogs bolted right after I sprayed the big nest, but didn’t know if they winded me or not, and right before I got the gun out, I saw what I think was a bigger boar that ran the others off.

I made a quick shot with the 6.5 CM and he dropped in his tracks and I hurried out of the stand before any wasps recovered enough to sting me.

I loaded hi on my receiver hit hauler and took a girth measurement to approximate the weight based on a chart I found somewhere. Girth is takes around the chest pulled snug just behind the shoulder which was 40 inches., According to the chart that’s 200 pounds.

The wasp ain't no joke, especially the big red ones. THEY HURT and swell me up big time. The yellowish ones hurt too but not like the demon red ones.
That chart has been pretty dang accurate for me as I have used it and compared the weight of a lot of hogs on a digital scale.

He LOOKS 200 lbs! Very nice boar.

Wasp have nothing on bald faced hornets. I've only been hit once and it was enough. It's a whole different feeling. It's feels like a big red wasp plus a baseball bat.

If there's Wasps in a blind, I spray the hell out of the blind and come back another time, I can shoot a pig anytime. Wasp's really screw me up. Nice Pig. Murl B.

I have had two rounds with the hornets, Both times were while trout fishing with a fly rod in the mountains. Both times I was stung 4 times. It looked like I had a boxing glove on my hand where one got me on the wrist. I would have near softball size swellings from the hornets.

Got hit in the face (cheek) by a wasp Thursday (thumped me pretty good too). Still a hard bump under the skin today. I was just checking out the PTO on the old tractor. Daughter said she went out and sprayed them good. They WILL be back.

My son’s been stung so many times the Doc gave him a pen to use next time he’s stung. Apparently one more sting could be fatal. I thought you’d build up immunity, guess not.
