Best Coyote Drag?

I’ve been using Tony Tebbe Hands-Free coyote drags for a few years and they work great with the built-in suspension/elastic in the sling. It makes a big difference when dragging coyotes up hill a long way. I recently purchased some similar slings and paracord and made my own for under $10 each. These types of drags are small enough I keep one in the front zipper pocket of my chest pack.

What’s everyone else using?

I haven’t gone hands free. 1/2 hardwood dowel. Drill hole. Double paracord through hole. Loops on both ends of double paracord. Drags up to 4 which hasn’t happened yet, and 3 was more than I wanted to pull! Lol.

When/If I consistently start pulling more than doubles, I’ll go hands free.

I too make my own with plastic conduit and cord that is a little heavier than para cord. I leave mine long enough so the coyote will clear my skis or snowshoe tails and be able to wrap around my waist to keep my hands free.

Just make half-hitches along the cord for multiples.

I like to put a loop on the end and loop around the upper jaw and a half-hitches around the lower so your dragging them nose first. They slide though brush much easier and don't get hung up.

I did a picture tutorial on them a few pages back. Search Coyote Drags.

I am too frugal to pay for a drag. I make my own. The one on the left is made from a 1"dowel, 550 reflective paracord, and counterbored for the knot. It is 42" long. I wrap the cord around the handle and the loop is the right size to slip over the end of the dowel so it stays rolled up until I need it.
The one on the right is made from Pex and 550 paracord. One hole through one side of the Pex the same size as the paracord and the knot is on the inside. The loop goes down in the Pex for storage. I make these and give them away to guys who don't have a drag.

Made my own...
Gave one to each of my coyote hunting friends.
Short double loop strap with chain quick link and fixture support cables. Generally have 2 cables on but have 2 more cables in pack if I shoot Triples or quads.
Cables work perfectly.
