The 25-06 is indeed a smasher, and the good part is that it is not destroying pelts if I would want to save them.  I had one bad exit, but that was due to angle and hitting shoulder.  All the others have been surprisingly light, or no exit at all.  Bait hunting allows me to generally pick a broadside shot, but I think calling them might have different results due to not always getting a broadside opportunity.
