“Could have would have should have “ is how last night went ! Had high humidity but I just plain screwed the pooch, lol ! I just knew #1 was a coyote but I was trying to positive ID. I know, after watching the video WHAT WAS I WAITING FOR !! Didn’t realize it until this morning #2 had to be a second coyote ! 🙄 Saw blood just before it disappeared into the clearcut. To all of you that say no pic or you gotta touch it I’m willing to bet I never see it again 😜 !

 
IDK, I probably would have waited for a steady shot on the first one, too, but I'm always a bit slow on the trigger. When hunting with my partner over the years, if we were both covering the same ground (sendero, etc.), he almost always took the first shot. (We knew if more than one coyote we took the one on our side, if you're on it shoot it!).
That 2nd one is dead; he started to bleed a lot just before entering cover. (y)
 
I’m just asking…did you think it was a fox or too much brush? Or did you think he’d come on out in the open and held off?

I have 5000 thoughts/scenarios go through my head a lot as well. I do better when I don’t think and just react.

Brush wasn’t really an issue. I was thinking deer for some dumb reason, probably because some were in the field as I entered but they headed in the opposite directions. He was directly downwind. I would say brain fart 😂 !

I get it, been there before. Looked like 100% coyote to me in your video, but it's easy to Monday morning quarterback it. The mind can play games with ya in the heat of the moment that's for sure. I agree with hm, second one is dead.
