Anyone messing around with 8.6 Blackout

I've been messing around with subsonic rounds in a 450BM and the 395 Sub-X bullet hits like a hammer but drops like a rock.

Been thinking about the 8.6 Blackout, but being such a fast twist rate, solid copper bullets are the only option which are not cheap.

Anyone messing with this round in a BA or semi-auto?

Just helped a guy with one. Used a savage action, had mostek rebarrel it to fit the factory stock, he put an eotec on it and took it to Africa.

Let's be honest, anything subsonic is going to drop like a rock. I've been shooting 300BO subs for a while now, it's just the nature of the beast. Bullet performance would be my biggest concern for hunting. A lot of subsonic loading data is with super heavy bullets not designed to expand at subsonic speeds. I've been pretty happy with the 190gr sub-x bullets so far. I would expect the 395gr sub-x would be no different.

If you must hunt subsonic, the long skinny bullet will work, decreases drop at distance. Know a guy that shot 5 heavy cast subsonic bullets (300BO) on a 150ish# hog @ 100 yds and it still ran off. And some verified hits! The Aussie hog hunter tried and missed most of the time (subs, 300BO). If you have to shoot subs, seems like the 8.6 woud be the way to go.

I gave it serious thought, but I already have 9 suppressors, three in .30 cal...I don't really feel like buying a .338 suppressor.
If I already had one...I'd probably have done it already
