Anyone Hunting with a PCC?

I've always wanted to buy a PCC Pistol Caliber Carbine, in 9mm. I'm currently considering the S&W FPC, then installing a red dot and putting a suppressor on it. :) Given the longer barrel, the ballistics are going to be better, for hunting purposes.
Everything that I own is for some type of hunting and this PCC won't be any different.

I'd like to hear from anyone that has used a PCC for hunting of anything coyote sized or smaller critters.

I have a Marlin M1894 .357 Magnum that I intend to use a little bit next year. The 125 gr. bullets can be pushed over 2000 fps, 158gr. bullets 1850 fps, 180s to 1800 fps. I can tell you this: 158 gr. XTPs at 1800 fps stop an armadillo charge with authority. :)

Any pistol caliber carbine is going to be a close range affair. :) I have no intentions of shooting it past 50 yards.
Most of my close range varmint hunting has been well inside 30 yards, around abandoned buildings. (y)

Yup, my 145gr 2100 fps 300 BO load is much different than a 9mm PCC load.

I tried using a Ruger PC Carbine a few years back…147gr Federal HST…shot 2 grey fox with it. One went right down, other was another story. Also shot 2 raccoon and and a skunk…none were favorable experiences and I quit using it to hunt with, your mileage may vary but it’s no longer in my wheel house for hunting use.

What kind of damage did the 147 hst do?

I carry it and 147gr ranger xt's in my carry guns.

One fox had no exit, mid body lung shot…the other was hit in the head and was not lethal and required a follow up…shots were around 25yds…the raccoons both ran off and I never found either. The skunk took awhile to expire as well, it unfortunately released its nastiness and I just left it.
