A tough old male

Forecasters said rain at 10:00 Monday so I thought I could get 3 sets in if the properties were close. No action at #1.
Killed this dark adult male at about 18min and 165yds in the 2nd location. Nothing responded to the low stuff and ~ 5min of silence so I strung 4-5 howls out then waited a couple minutes and played a Boss male howl. He came quickly from my 3:00 which meant I had to reposition the gun and adjust the tripod (you level ground guys don't know what you are missing :giggle:). He abruptly stopped and I thought I might be sky lined so I shot. Hit him with another and he still faltered out of sight but that is where he was laying.
A few minutes later I see 2 more heads crest the hill where he came from, but they would not commit. I know there have been a few 'mag dumps' on this farm by the young fella I have been mentoring and his buddy. Anyhow, I decide to go in that direction and try to 'entice' them from a different spot with different sounds--WELL, THE SKY LET LOOSE AN HOUR EARLY AND I WAS ABOUT 3/4 MILE FROM THE SUV.

WELL, I GUESS I ADDED THE WRONG VID TO THIS POST--NEED TO PROOFREAD BEFORE POSTING

That's what ya get for adding that third leg, Mike. ;) Shooting sticks are simple enough for even this old man to manipulate. Just

One of the reasons I love my Swagger QD 42. So much easier to reposition in those crazy hillside sets. I donā€™t think i deal with them as much as Mike does in PA, but when I know where Iā€™m going to be in precarious terrain, Iā€™m a bipod hunter instead of a tripod hunter!

That said, Nice going Mike. Cool color on that rascal!
