A little motivation

I listened to a FoxPro podcast yesterday and they were going over their calling sequences for Oct/Nov. I programmed my Icotec last night with sounds they recommended on my Favorites and figured I’d give it a try this morning.
I’d been making a few stands here and there in the evenings without much of anything. We didn’t have to be at the Plantation until 0800 this morning to start getting horses and dogs ready so I set the alarm for 0430 and came on out.
I figured I’d just go through the call list and then move on trying to get a few stands in before daylight.
I picked a spot I’d never called from before but near the drain I knew the coyotes used to use. I haven’t heard a coyote in almost 5 months or so, but felt certain they had to be around.
I made it until about the 17min mark when I switched to a prey distress and here they came. Didn’t have time to hit record when they busted cover. I’m pretty sure there were 2 but the less coyote was on a mission.
I’m not gonna lie, I totally blew the first shot, but had enough clarity to crank the volume and rack another round. As soon as I closed the bolt he stopped broadside at about 80yds or so. I didn’t miss again, lol. I was very happy to get back in the game and he almost broke the 40lb mark as he weighed in at 38.2lbs.
