A few from tonight, my longest shot ever by far

My buddy and I made 3 stands and as it turned out I did all the killing. This first double was part of a quad that came in and got ridiculously mad at 4 or 500 yards, then we finally got the first one to commit. I almost missed the easy shot at 130 and had to finish it. The second was one my partner missed at 350 when I shot the first one, and I looked at Strelok which said the first hash mark was 420 yards so I decided what the heck. I was a little shocked and pretty impressed with myself lol!

This stand was on a desolate dead end road and it didn't take maybe 2 minutes for this big female to come charging in to rabbit distress. They should always work like this lol.

As I was typing this thread, a coyote set off my alarm on a deer carcass, and I missed an easy 150 yd shot to keep me humble. My hold looked good but maybe just high and the midrise trajectory got me is all I can figure. What a bummer!

Thanks guys! Yeah I was a little shocked, a good bit of luck involved for sure. I have a cheapy amazon type lrf mounted to the side of my handguard, it works ok but won't range much farther than that, and some nights not even that far. But it has been much better than nothing for sure. It showed this coyote at 447 yds, I just noticed I never put the actual range in my first post.

I drool over the new nocpix lrf model, the rangefinder is inside it so no strange lumps, and it has range compensation built in. It's just VERY hard to justify, to myself, spending 5 or 6k or more on an optic to kill a couple dozen coyotes a year lol.

'new nocpix lrf model' New Sig unit has the same (well, wort is on the side) and removeable 18650 batts. Internal batt goes bad and back to factory for repair.
