3rd set of a 4 set night and the only one with action. No howls heard tonight but they would have had to been close for me to hear because of the wind.
Wind was from the W and I was facing downhill to the S with the call about 40 to my W. After a few min of rabbit and some quiet, I let out a series of howls. Shortly I see one at my NW but by the time I get the gun positioned and adjusted on my uphill he is in brush, and I think goes back over the ridge.
I turn the rabbit on again and he shows back up in a bit. I mute the call and bark, he died. Big male-110yds-14min in set.
