7PRCW???

That's Alex's version of the 7-6.5PRC, right? I've read a fair amount about it and it sounds like they shoot pretty fricken well but then again, generally, most things Alex puts his name on shoot really well. If you're looking for another project after the 7PRCW maybe take a look at one of his 25 PRC reamers because they appear to be doing real well too. Never can have to many projects in the works.

Yes that's Alex's reamer design, I'm not an F CLASS competitor but it seems to be the caliber guys are moving to and having great results.

I shoot a match every year that is a hybrid of sorts between ELR, F class and PRS that runs out to 1 mile. I've been taking my normal PRS stuff tyat i compete with regularly and would like something with a little more horsepower but still extremely accurate and the 7prcw is what I've decided to go with running Berger 180 Hybrids.

Great cartridge.
Also, very similar to the 7mm SAUM
I do not have a 7mm PRCW, but I am surely NOT opposed to the design....It works quite well.
My Open rig is a straight 284 Winchester.

For us slow people (me). Is the 7PRCW just a 6.5PRC necked up to 7MM?

Pretty much, there are several different reamer options out there. The reamer i chose is a little bigger at the 200 line to help mitigate clickers and is optimized for Berger 180 Hybrids with the lead and throat.

It's a really simple wildcat to make brass and Alpha actually makes factory brass that's ready from the box. Lots of die and seater options as well so even though it's not SAAMI spec it's super easy to reload for with the proper tools available.

I bought a 6.8 Western last year. Pretty much the same thing as that with less bullet and brass options.

It should have been named the 6.8 PRC because you can hardly tell the difference between the two visually.

I do however, really like the cartridge. And like the sound of the one you are talking about!
