Dead Down Wind

My hunting partner and i started out the 19th of October, calling was good in the morning, then they shut down in the afternoon. Not exactly sure how many miles we put onto Steve's truck. We went through a lot of gas and had a great time. We didn't take pictures of every Coyote killed; some were a ways out there.
At night we stayed in our huts that are strategically placed throughout the 1,000's of acres we call. Some Coyotes were killed on private ground, and some were killed on public ground.
Winds were good except for 1 day; we decided to relax until the 20-40mph gusts subsided which was around dark, basically we only called for 6 days.
We had some hard chargers, we had some that would just peek over the top of a hill, and some that would sit out there 600-800 yards out barking. It depended on what i was playing on the e-caller. If it was some type of pup distress or coyote fight, the young ones would not come close.
Saw 1 milk snake, 1 garter snake, 2 rattlesnakes, 1 Swift Fox and 1 Badger on this adventure, yes, the snakes are still out!!!
I ended with 22 kills and Steve ended with 29 kills, we decided to come back 2 days early due to the warm weather, we will hit them again when the cold weather turns this week.
Closest Coyote was 14 yards and the longest was 688 yards, and 1 at 674 yards which could see the truck, she sat down and didn't get back up. I had the pleasure of killing all 3. On the long shots i used my Swarovski EL Range w/TA. These bino's have a built-in
ballistic calculator. We ran 6 shots through Steve's Chronograph and got an average of 3209 FPS. I am shooting a 6mm Creedmoor with a Nightforce ATCR, Hornay Varmint Express 87grain Ballistic tip. Factory ammo states 3210 FPS.
