One Winter snow cover day. Many years ago. I was road hunting coyotes in my old hunting area. I seen 5 coyotes walking in a string near a 1/2 mile fence line. I had permission on that land. My initial thought was to sneak in & head them off. As they were West bound. This behavior I witnessed was during the last days in January. As I watched them. I figured the lead coyote was a female, as she squatted to pee. As she pee'd none of the following coyotes broke rank. but remained still. They all stopped pretty much evenly apart. As she did her duty. Then as she proceeded West Bound. Each coyote walked forward & pee'd on the area where she went. One by one as they stepped forward. They each took their turn. The most interesting behavior was. They never broke rank in their line. I ended up not trying my hand on any of them.
Had I interrupted that group by trying to kill them. I would not of observed their behavior. Which I found most interesting.
