300 blackout for suppressed thermal hunting

So I have the horrible problem of an empty lower. Just got my first suppressor a dead air sandman s 30 cal, and I am trying to decide if a 300 blackout would be worth the investment to put my thermal on and use it for night calling.

Honestly just looking for opinions on ar caliber to use with the suppressor.

I have .223 and 6.5 grendel already and I can't make my mind up.

Not 100% sure what you're looking for, but a couple thoughts I have:

300BO is a great round to shoot sub sonic. It's not terribly fast to begin with so you're not loosing a ton going sub sonic (compared to other calibers). I just wouldn't go that route for a thermal hunting set-up. Way too much guess work aiming with that slow of a bullet for aiming, and you're limited in range. 300BO supersonic would be my last choice out of the 3 calibers you listed for a thermal hunting set up (for coyotes). This might be a good option for hogs, I don't get to hunt those here in MI.

If you're talking about quiet, I've never shot my 300BO supersonic. I think you'll get feedback all over the board on this, but my 224 Valkyrie is by far the quietest rifle I'm shooting supersonic/suppressed. I don't exactly know why, but it seems much quieter than everything else I've shot suppressed.

If your other 2 rifles are threaded, you should be able to run your new can on your other rifles too. Don't feel like you need to go with a 30 cal just because of your can.

Currently have suppressed 223 AR, 300Blackout AR, & 300 BO Savage Axis. I use the 223 most of the time. If I have spots where distance is limited or need to be more quiet the others get used, the Savage is stupid quiet with 190 SubX @ 1060 with BE86. In the AR am running the 190s supersonic @ 1550 with LilGun. Soundwise is between the other 2 guns, but using a bullet designed for 900-1100 fps @ 1550 is very effective! Upper limit for that gun is about 175 yds due to drop.

Shoot BO supers unsupressed (AR15) with the IR. Works fine, rabbit, possum, yote, dillo, hog @ 100 yds. Did put an IR on my 308 for longer shots but haven't gotten to the field since Christmas. Hopefully sometime this month.

Such a problem,, Mine was the opposite, too many uppers !
I hunted with 300BO suppressed, in the past, but pushed the 110 VMAX as fast as was safe, for accuracy reasons.
Tried subsonic but my barrel really didn't like them, plus I didn't like the 22LR ballistic drop.
Also, the 300BO was mostly for less than 150 yards, hilly wooded terrain.

If I were going to do 300BLK on a thermal, a night rig, or any rig for that matter...I'm shooting animals with supers. Period.
I have a 7" that is great with subs, but if I want to kill something, I'm gonna use a 110 Vmax. Don't care how much more quiet subs are...not worth it for me.

Thank yall for the input. I am in south east montana now so gone are the days of my south texas hog hunts. Going to be using thermal for coyotes and such now. Guess I just need to find something fun for the lower

Even with supers, I think the 300BO is easier to quiet down than 223. 11gr or so of a fairly fast powder vs 25gr of medium or slower powder.
