243 bullet best BC

What is the best BC bullet for a 243?
Going to start loading for a new gun soon
Mainly for coyotes

How is the bullet BC have anything to do with the rifle?
Just asking?
Thought the bullet BC was based on the bullet alone

Because bullets with high BCs like the 105 amax will not stabilize in most factory 243 barrels. The twist is to slow. The heavier and longer the bullet the better the coefficient and also the faster twist needed. Bullet shape and design plays a role as well.

Yep, this is why.

What works in a 9 twist will likely not in a 10 and so on.

Your probably good for everything from 100 grainers on down. There are lots of good coyote bullets out there 87 Vmax, 87 Berger Vld, 95 Vld for higher BCs.

I have gotten 105 AMax to twist right out of a Remmy. It took a stiff load and the speed is where you can cheat and get them to work.

Having said that, I really like the 95 gr Classic Hunter in the 243 win and a 9 tw.

Dan's right.
BC only really figures into the equation once you get past what most of us would call "normal" hunting yardages.
Berger 105 Hybrids are a good high-BC bullet.
