10th Bolt Kill Last Night

Well, last night I got yet another one, a female at 86 yards. This time there was an exit from the 25-06 and 70 gr. Blitz King, the first on broadside shots, but not a bad one. It could have been sewed up if mounting or saving the pelt. This is the 10th coyote for the new Infiray Bolt TL-35 v2.

Activity has really picked up lately. There is at least one more around, the crippled one. I plan to hunt again tonight.

He, I drilled a hole in it to cut down on weight. Actually, I don't have a clue about the hole in the bolt knob deal. As accurate as it is, I really don't care.

It may seem silly to keep talking about this, but I'm intrigued. I looked, and I couldn't find a single weatherby vanguard model past or present with a hole in the bolt head like that. They aren't factory threaded for replacement, so someone either threaded the handle and added it, or just drilled it out. It's interesting.

Well done on getting the Coyotes, David. That thermal scope certainly works well. There's some good video footage too. Thanks. ( from Steve, your Welsh friend.)

Thanks guys.

Flintlock, my success rate improved once I began baiting. The area where I live is not conducive to calling as much due to steep, thick hillsides, deep hollows and close quarter hunting generally. If you need help setting up a bait site then I will be glad to share my experiences over the last 13 years.

Steve, thus far I am pleased with the Infiray Bolt thermal. I use white hot on my other thermals but this particular scope seems to give a much better view on black hot. The only thing I want to change is the little white center crosshair and replace it with a dot. I understand there is a crosshair I can download and customize with a dot. I hope to do that but will have to get my son’s help. He is much more computer savvy than I am.
