Got out last night for 3 sets. Tough going with the snow. Wasn’t bad in some places and downright awful in others from drifting.

1st set I managed this female. Played a little MFK goody woody for about 2 minutes setup along a brushy draw up the center of cut corn field. She came in slowly and silent from a couple hundred yards out headed towards the downwind. Tipped her over at about 150 yards with 75gr Vmax out of 243. Lousy pic but I was spent from trudging. Wasn’t much caring about the photo shoot! Lol. Snow wasn’t bad where she fell. Mid shin where I hiked uphill 300 yards to get setup. Also called in 2 different greys on this set.

2 more sets after this one were pure torture. Called in a red fox on second set. Blanked on 3rd. Was nice to get out, but man do we need a thaw!

Nice job. What you need is a pulk and skis or snowshoes, caller, rifle and tripod in the sled, just glide into your favorite spot. No juggling gear or postholing through the snow. I used to run my winter beaver line like that traps, ice spud, and gear plus a great way to get critters back to the truck.

Looks like the cabin fever broke Bob.
Good results.

I’ve made a couple stands here and there, trying break it Bill. It’s been a tough run for sure! Guess you’d say the fever has broke, but now my legs are burning! Lol…

Thanks for the post, Bill. Hope you’re getting out and after them.
