Hey Guys

Any of you tried the new Superformance powder? I picked up a pound of it today at Cablella's and thought that I would give it a try in my .220 Swift or maybe my .17 Remmy but I can find no data on it. Got data for the 22/250 so that give me something to start with.

Don't mind experimenting but this stuff was a bit pricey so I thought I would see if any of you had tried it and what you thought of it. Looks like some speedy stuff to me.

After reading peoples results I decided not to try it. It just wasn't living up to the hype. not much super in the performance.

I tried this with my 22-250 A-bolt medallion and it did not perform as well as expected. To say the least, not buying any more of this powder.

After burning out the barrel on my last Swift I started throttling back my loads a bit after spending quite a few bucks getting a new Krieger barrel installed. I like the idea of getting full Swift speeds without the pressures and heat of what one normally has to put up with. I will see what this will do and if it works or does not work for me I will report it here.

As a 35 year Swift owner I have had lots of loads that have worked really well over the years, but some of my favorite have been pretty stiff loads and it would be nice to duplicate those speeds without the pressures normally associated with it.

Maybe I am looking for the goose that laid the golden egg, but heck, might just be fun trying.

I had very good results with it in my 243. I started with the load on the bottle and it was the load that shot the best out of my ar-10. Im getting 3370 fps out of my 20" barrel. Im going to try it out o my 22-250 ackly next. From what I have been told it perform the best with heavy bullets the best.

It is starting to look like that to me too- that it likes heavy bullets that is. But my Swift has a 1-14" twist barrel so just about all that I ever shoot in it are 50 to 55 grain bullets. If it will work with this bullet weight fine, if not I might just save it for my .243 or maybe my 25-06.
