I picked up a video on calling bears... Very intresting stuff. I live in north east pa and we dont have a spring bear season here (which is what the video seemed to be all about) Our season is late nov to early december. Has anyone tried calling in those months? Does anyone have any advice that they can offer?

That's the only ti me i call .our season is aug1 to nov. i make a raspy sounding call.i like to muffle the end and go wa wa wa to make bear cub indistress. not sure what would work in pa.kinda of a radical deer distress i bet. Rick

I'm hoping to call in a bear this fall in PA. I was w/a friend in the Allegheny National Forest calling coyote & had a bear coming in. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Get a few of your buddies together, put on some hip boots and start driving those swamps! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif Works for our group.Three years ago we managed to take 7 bruins, the largest being a 700lb'der! I killed a 207lb sow.The swamp we killed the big boar in also produced a 510lb'der three years previous to that.Certainly grow them big here in PA. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif

From what I've been told, PA has the largest bears of the lower "48".
Hope I get a nice sized one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif Not to big my living room isn't that large. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I wonder if we can legaly do that here in washington. i know the bear hangout's interesting i'm going to put up several treestand's this year and run the foxpro. that way i can look down in the opening's. very brushy. Rick

A word of wisdom. Full body mounts take up less space than a rug. I found out the hard way. Sorry Honey! The only place it will fit is to get rid of the head board and put it there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
