Old western movies

I watched the fastest gun alive last week. Great movie! A while back I checked out some old rifleman episodes and man could Chuck Conners work that lever action. Any of you guys watch that kind of stuff? What are some of your favourites?

John Wayne, Alan Ladd, Randolph Scott, Audie Murphy, Clint Eastwood, Gene Autrey, Roy Rogers and many others all made great westerns back in the day.
In no particular order, Rio Bravo, Rio Lobo, McLintock, Chisum, Son's of Katie Elder, El Dorado, Tall in the Saddle, The Fighting Kentuckian, Rooster Cogburn, The Cowboys, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Rio Grande, The Tall T, Tall Man Riding, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Once Upon a Time in the West, High Plains Drifter, Red Badge of Courage.
Just to name a few.
There were so many good, and not so good, westerns made that I can never get tired of them. Not to mention the 100 or so TV shows that were made. Tales from Wells Fargo, Zane Grey Theater, Wanted: Dead or Alive, Maverick, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, The Rebel and many many more.

Yep. I'm OK with showing my age to know all these old movies and TV shows. Did the fast draw and levered lots of rounds in my day, Heh..Heh! :)

"3:10 to Yuma" sticks in my mind, "The Way West" not the greatest but my daughter was an extra in it her uncle was a stunt man and stunt coordinator in a lot of the western movies, no I never met him wrong side of the family. "The Mountain Men" with Brian Keith was memorable.

Mom once told me that my dad had been in some old western movie. Just a background character, nothing anyone would notice. She never could remember which movie it was though. Most likely was one back in the late 1950's

Wish I could find out & watch it but it's no longer possible, everyone is long gone

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but there was at least one episode of The Rifleman when they showed the details of Lucus' .44-40 win. He had modified the trigger so that it would fire as he worked the lever. I think of it as holding the trigger on a single action revolver and fanning the hammer. I've always wondered why he was able to swing it around like in the opening intro and it not fire? I know, I know...it's Hollywood :ROFLMAO:
